Bruna Silva Receives Two-Year Suspension
Athletes that disobey legislation with their respective leagues receive suspensions. This happened again with Bruna Silva, a Middleweight with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He acquired a two-year suspension from the MMA League, which was prompted when he failed a drug test before flying internationally. An administration test was conducted by the United States Anti-Doping Agency, noting that this athlete was taking a variation of steroids. This is considering more illegal in fighting than smoking marijuana, with it giving you a considerable advantage over the competition.
This isn’t the first time that Bruna Silva has been caught testing positive for steroids. Previous to this incident, he was caught with Boldenone in the bloodstream. This way days before his debut in the UFC in 2019 at Greenville. Since joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship, this athlete has struggled to find contention in the octagon. Before the UFC, Bruna Silva was a global champion under international leagues. When his team of trainers were questioned in this incident, they defended his innocence and stated that they’d fight this with the USADA Courts. However, drug tests are 99.85% correct and cannot be overruled in federal courts.
Suspensions for breaking the USADA Legislation have become more significant in the last two years. This follows after the Ultimate Fighting Championship renewed their contract with the agency, forcing immediate policy alterations on several previous laws. The most significant of these policies was the increase of drug testing by 40%, bringing the total to 75% league-wide. This order came directly from Dana White, who believes steroids doesn’t create the Ultimate Fighter.
Darren Till Speculates Return
The disappearance of one fighter allows for another to return in the coming weeks. Shortly after it was confirmed that Bruna Silva wouldn’t be returning to the UFC for 24 months, Darren Till was announced to return. This middleweight confirmed that his next booking is slated for UFC 248, which comes after a split decision victory against Kevin Gastelum at UFC 244. This was Darren’s UFC debut in the middleweight sector, where he reached overall 5th placement in the championship.
Dana White hasn’t provided any details regarding Darren Till fighting at UFC 248. However, it has been confirmed that Israel Adesanya will battle Yoel Romero for the Middleweight Championship title. This would be the main event for the March 7th event in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena. Analysts are speculating that upwards of three middleweight battles could occur at UFC 248, with another bout between Jared Cannonier and Robert Whittaker confirmed by the UFC.
