Dana White Refuses Ageing Fighters

Older fighters are becoming popular again, prompting interest from international promoters. This all began after Mike Tyson announced he’d return to professional fighting for charity. Charitable boxing quickly turned into an official match, with Mike Tyson confirmed to fight Roy Jones Junior. Hundreds of thousands worldwide were excited for the return of Muhammed Ali’s successor, with those individuals left disappointed by what was witnessed.

Mike Tyson & Roy Jones Junior didn’t sustain the stamina required to complete eight rounds, with both men appearing physically exhausted after the first round. Mike Tyson would stand victorious over Roy Jones Jr, with replay highlights showcasing the speed & prowess Tyson reacquired over months of training. That speed would drop down drastically, resulting in both men using each other for physical support.

UFC President Dana White emphasised that he hadn’t any interest in acquiring older fighters for the octagon. Those sentiments were reiterated by Dana White on November 29th, with White speaking to reporters about events unfolded at “UFC on ESPN 18”. Media personnel questioned UFCs President on the possibility of promoting boxing exhibitions between Roy Jones Jr & Anderson Silva.

Dana White doesn’t believe older fighters should come out of retirement. UFCs President considers himself a genuine spectator & support of professional fighting, with Dana White understanding it’s a sport for younger athletes. Dana emphasised that these older fighters carry weight behind their namesake, with the possibility of acquiring money looming.

Stay Retired

Anderson Silva, Roy Jones Junior, Mike Tyson, Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, and numerous other fighters coming out of retirement have had their glory days. That time has come & past, with these individuals struggling to accept the reality. Recent bouts between older competitors have been less exciting & fast-paced, providing that Dana White is correct about fighting being a young man’s game. When those older fighters are willing to accept that reality is unknown.
